Knowing you have covered all your bases will give you a sense of relief in the event of an emergency. Make sure you are prepared by going over your gear, equipment, and knowledge before it is too late.Now May Be the Time to Go Over Your Vehicle’s Winter Emergency Kit 1.Make sure your cold weather coat and blanket(s) and or cold weather sleeping bag is cleaned and packed tight from the last trip when they were covered in all those items you were supposed to donate during the summer 2.Change out batteries in flashlights and check the expiration dates on your emergency medical supplies, rations, and bottled water3.Ensure you have a car charger for that new smart phone the one you have might be from a few phones ago4.In some parts of the country, you may need tire chains, sand or cat litter a shovel and nylon towing strap may be a good idea as well A compact survival kit packed in a backpack for year-round use is also a excellent idea.
