Teff is a low sugar and starch grass hay with NSC (Water Soluble Carbohydrates + Starch) ranging between 7%-8%. The low NSC makes Teff a very good option for horses with metabolic diseases such as Insulin Resistance and Pars Pituitary Insulin Disorder. It is low in calories compared to Timothy grass or Alfalfa which makes it a good choice for easy keepers.
