Remove rust and other surface residue to ensure a good bond with the paint. Mask off surroundings to protect against over-spray. Surface temperature should not exceed 38ÂC (100ÂF). Shake can vigorously for one minute. Hold can 25-30 cm (10-12”) away from the surface. Spray surface using a smooth sweeping motion to avoid runs or sags. Allow 15 minutes to dry, and then apply a second coat if required. Let stand 24 hours before putting equipment into service. Provide ventilation when firing stove for the first time after painting. Some smoke and odors are given off during this process.
